Africa’s top private education provider, ADvTECH Group, has acquired Regis Runda Academy for Ksh1.23 billion (approximately R172 million), making its second major acquisition in Kenya since acquiring Makini Schools seven years ago.
The school, situated in the thriving Ridgeways area northeast of Nairobi, has a capacity of 2,000 students. According to the ADvTECH, the institution will be rebranded as Makini School Runda. The company will assume management starting 20 August 2025.
“We are delighted to increase our Makini Schools footprint in Kenya and to bring the brand’s compelling proposition to parents and students in one of the fastest developing regions of Nairobi,” said ADvTECH Group CEO, Geoff Whyte.
The acquisition comes as part of ADvTECH’s recent continental expansion. In November 2024, the Group acquired Flipper International Schools in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa. Also, it launched Rosebank International University College in Accra, Ghana.
ADvTECH emphasizes that these expansions reinforce its commitment to delivering superior private education throughout Africa.
