Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that fuel prices will remain unchanged from May 15th to June 14th, 2025. This marks the third consecutive month where EPRA has kept the same fuel prices.
The prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene in Nairobi during this period will remain at Ksh. 174.63, Ksh 165.86, and Ksh 148.99.
In contrast, a litre of super petrol will retail at Ksh 173.43 in Mombasa, Ksh 175.80 in Nakuru, Ksh 176.62 in Kisumu, and Eldoret.
EPRA noted that these prices include the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in accordance with the Finance Act 2023 and other relevant tax regulations.
Interestingly, EPRA also mentioned that the average landed costs of imported petroleum products had actually decreased in the period under review (March 2025 to April 2025).
The average landed cost of super petrol declined by 2.65 percent to US$588.16 from US$606.06 per cubic metre, while diesel decreased by 6.62 percent to US$594.60 from US$636.75 per cubic metre.
The regulatory body reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to upholding fair competition and the protection of the interests of consumers and investors in the energy and petroleum sectors.
